SCHOOL CLOSURE 5th January

In light of the Prime Minister’s announcement at 8pm on 4th January, please be aware that the school will be closed to ALL PUPILS on Tuesday 5th January. Online learning will be available from Tuesday.

Key workers and parents of vulnerable children who have emailed the school will be contacted shortly. Please bear with us while we adapt to this rapid change and establish new, secure key worker and vulnerable bubbles with appropriate child and staffing ratios.

Thank you

Helplines and resources to support parents and children

Dear Children and Parents,

As a school we sympathise with you during this uncertain and challenging time. The unknown and constant changes can cause anxiety to rise and mental health to decline. We have received some resources to support you all during this period. Below are links to some visual resources to help young children, or children with SEND, to prepare for the return to school, and to reflect on their lockdown experience.

There is a flier below with contact details for any children to call regarding their mental health. It is a 24 hour 7 days a week telephone advice helpline run by qualified mental health clinicians to be there for you to contact when you need.

There is a Council helpline for any parents and carers who have any concerns or queries. You can contact the Parental helpline on 01926 412021, from 9am to 5pm, or check the Council’s website for further information.

The parent and carer webpage can be found by clicking here

Take care of yourselves,

St. Mary’s Team

Galanos House Art Competition

Celebrating Art in Care was the theme for the Galanos House Care Home Open Day. As it was Armed Forces Day on Saturday 29th June 2019, Galanos House challenged groups in the Southam community to create a piece of Art celebrating the theme of Armed Forces/Veterans Day. We relish a challenge here at St Mary’s, so each class busily prepared their competition entry. I am sure you will agree that they are wonderful! The judging has now taken place and I can reveal that 3 of the entries were placed 3rd, 4th and 6th, with the fourth receiving a ‘Highly Commended’ – well done to one and all!
