RSHE

At St Mary's Catholic Primary School, Relationships, Sex and Health Education (RSHE) is an essential part of our personal development curriculum and safeguarding provision. RSHE helps pupils gain the knowledge, language and skills to build healthy relationships, understand their wellbeing, recognise risk, and seek help when something isn’t right.

Our RSHE curriculum is taught through Life to the Full - Plus (Ten Ten Resources), a carefully sequenced scheme of work that supports high-quality, age-appropriate learning across year groups. It is designed to enable schools to meet the expectations of the Department for Education’s statutory RSHE guidance (with the updated statutory guidance published July 2025 and in force from 1 September 2026).

We follow the statutory principles of effective RSHE by ensuring teaching is inclusive, carefully sequenced, delivered safely, and underpinned by a whole-school approach. We also work in partnership with parents and carers, sharing information about what is taught and when, and making RSHE resources available in line with guidance
