At our school, Spanish is our chosen language so that pupils’ learning aligns with the language taught at our local secondary school, supporting a smoother transition into Key Stage 3.
We want children to enjoy learning languages and to build confidence over time. Lessons develop the four key skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing, as well as pronunciation and basic grammar, through engaging, interactive activities.
We teach Spanish using Language Angels, a progressive scheme that provides ready-to-teach lessons, interactive resources and native-speaker audio to support accurate pronunciation.
The scheme is carefully sequenced and helps pupils build language knowledge step-by-step, revisiting and reusing prior learning to strengthen long-term recall.
