At St Mary’s Catholic Primary School, our use of Pupil Premium funding is driven by our Catholic ethos that every child is known, valued and supported to flourish in a caring, inclusive community. We use this funding to reduce barriers to learning and ensure that disadvantaged pupils achieve well academically, develop confidence and resilience, and participate fully in the wider life of the school.
Our current Pupil Premium Strategy covers 2025–2026 and sets out how we allocate funding to improve outcomes through high-quality teaching, robust assessment, early identification of need (including speech and language), and well-targeted academic and pastoral support. We recognise that disadvantage can present in different ways, including social and emotional needs, SEND, attendance and access to resources or enriching experiences, so our approach combines strong classroom practice with practical and pastoral help for pupils and families. Impact is reviewed through regular monitoring, pupil progress meetings and evaluation of provision so that support remains responsive and effective.
Pupil Premium funding is applied for by parents and if eligible the school will be given the additional funding and used in the ways outlined.
