Number Day + Times Tables Rock Stars Relaunch and Competition

We are delighted to be supporting the NSPCC by taking part in Number Day 2022

On Friday 4th February, we will be joining schools across the UK for the NSPCC mega maths fundraising day. Everyone will take part in Dress up for Digits and have a fun-filled day of maths activities and games, while raising money to support NSPCC services such as Childline.

It’s as easy as 1, 2, 3:

  1. Dress up in a number, TTRS or maths-themed outfit
  2. Bring in a donation
  3. Have a day of maths fun!

Get ready to Rock!!!
This day will also see the re-launch of Times Tables Rock Stars (TTRS) for children in KS2. Highest earning pupils will be inducted to the “Wall of Fame” to celebrate their outstanding success and progress. It will be a fun-filled day of maths activities made even better if you “dress up for digits” in true style. If you have a child in KS2 and have any questions about your child’s TTRS account, please contact their class teacher in the first instance.

It all adds up
In order to raise vital funds for the NSPCC, we are asking every child to bring in a donation of £1 and come dressed up in a number or maths themed outfit. Ideas include: a clock, a calculator, digits, numbers drawn on a top, a football or netball shirt or (for KS2) your TTRS avatar.  We’re really looking forward to all the fun of Number Day, and we really appreciate your support. All the money we raise will make an enormous difference to children today and help NSPCC be there for children.

Thank you.

World Book Day 2022

The theme of World Book Day for 2022 is – You are a Reader!

World Book Day will take place on Thursday 3rd March and we would like to invite the children to either wear their pyjamas for the day (a St. Mary’s favourite way to spend a day at school!) or to dress up as your favourite book character.  We would like each child to bring in their favourite book from home (if they can) to share with their friends and during the day staff will have lots of Reading activities planned to remind children about the fun and importance of reading.
